Part way through cleaning things up and repainting. After painting the engine, I sanded the fin edges. The old Supertrapp exhaust was a bit pitted,
so it got sandblasted and coated with ceramic paint. After heat curing, the pipes were burnished with #0000 steel wool to bring up a soft sheen.
The aluminum exhaust collars were polished, and all of the exhaust studs were replaced with new studs and new chrome nuts.
One exhaust stud was broken, and had to be drilled out and repaired with a Helicoil
. The cam cover was polished, and then clear
powdercoated so that repolishing would not be required. This bike's owner is a rider, not a polisher.
